THE STORY Leon Gavin Labeau was born into a small Cajun family. It nearly doubled in size later on, but in the beginning, it was just himself, his mom and dad, and his older brother Alexandre. He had a very happy childhood, one filled with all the love and laughter in the world. He was the child that always wanted to be outside, no matter what the weather was. All he wanted to do was play sports. When he was about two, the Labeau family gained two new members, another brother, Thomas, and a sister, Jaiden. Leon connected with his sister almost immediately, and she with him. She was always following him around and would try to sneak off with him whenever he went somewhere. He loved being a big brother, and having a sibling look up to him, well, it’s what kept him on the straight and narrow. Alexandre did help with that a lot though, making sure to help his mom before the others came along. About two years after the twins’ birth, one more member was to be added to the Labeau clan. Xavier. When Leon was about 4 or 5, him, Alexandre, and Thomas began showing signs of their powers, the ability to shapeshift into one animal. They got that ability from their father. Alexandre had a bit of trouble, but Leon and Thomas seemed to have no problems. Leon loved the shift. He loved being able to run in the shape of a desert fox. He was so small and could run so much faster, it was great. From then on, his father would take the boys out every other weekend to go for runs, while Jaiden and his mother stayed behind and had their much needed girl time. They learned that Jaiden didn’t shift because she was an empath, and so they always tried to make sure they were happy whenever they went around her. She didn’t need to deal with all the crap they had going on in their lives on top of their own. It was during his Junior year of high school that Leon’s world fell apart. His dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, and not a week after that, his mother just walked out, leaving a sick man in the hospital to take care of 5 kids. Alexandre’s school plans were put on hold, while he helped their dad take care of them. It wasn’t long before Gabriel sent them all off to Yucca Mountain, where they’ve lived ever since. Leon is still as close to his sister as ever, but his mother’s leaving hit him pretty hard. He pretended she didn’t even exist until last year, during a short stint when he couldn’t play ball that had him thinking of all the ‘what-ifs’. They keep in contact now, and Leon sometimes wonders how he went so long hating her, and not having her in his life. Leo's been clean from drugs for about 4 years now (he was sold out by the son of his supplier), and within that time, he's gotten a girl pregnant, lost his dad, fretted through the birth of his daughter, got into college, and even managed to land a job as the assistant coach at the high school, all of which changed when he got signed for pro-ball. It had been after a particularly rough patch in his and Katie’s relationship. She had cheated on him, and Leo just hadn’t been sure what to do. And so, he left her, but he also had to leave his baby girl. He couldn’t exactly take her with him. He did what he could from a distance, sending Katie money to help with Kora. He hasn’t seen Katie or his daughter since he left, three years ago. And oh, how he’s missed Kora, and at times, he’s found himself missing Katie. He always puts a stop to that one pretty quickly though. She had made her choice, and it hadn’t been him. How he often wished it had been. Leo had tried to move on. Many times in fact. He never slept with the girl, only dinner a few times before he found himself bored. None of them were random, spontaneous. None of them were her. And that was the fact the hurt him the most. How could he still love someone that had hurt him so badly? It just didn’t make sense. At least now he could fool himself that she was nothing to him. Most days. For the first time in his life, not hurting for money that he had yet to earn, Leo was comfortable with his lifestyle. He had money, he could live anywhere he wanted, get anything he wanted. It was every guys dream, and yet, sometimes, it was Leo’s nightmare. What he really wanted, more than anything, was to hold his baby girl, make her laugh, spend some well deserved time together. But to do that, meant going back home, and Leo had thought for the longest time that he wouldn’t be able to handle it. Or would he? His cousin is getting married soon, and Leo’s got an invite. Maybe it’s time to go back home for a visit, catch up with the family. Oh, what fun this should be. BEHIND THE MASK ALIAS what you go by AGE 17, yo! ROLEPLAY EXPERIENCE almost 6 years FOUND US admin! He sat still, almost holding his breath as he fought back the military instinct to go on the offense, not wanting to hurt someone. He didn't want to, not anymore. Not after all the pain and hurt he had caused people of families he didn't know, and all the people he had ever cared about. No, he didn't need anyone else getting hurt on his watch. Not anymore. He listened to the sound of the footsteps coming closer and then he heard them stop followed by a hesitant, "Hello?" "No way. No. Effin. Way." he thought to himself as his eyes snapped open and darted towards the mouth of the cave. No way could it be her. He wasn't ready to see her yet, no like this, not here. It wouldn't be fair. Not to him or- His brain stopped mid-ramble as he watched her walk closer. She had stepped close enough that he could see her face and he was taken back. Back to the times they sat in this very cave, sharing secrets and telling stories, going over the day before or just sitting in silence as the watched the sunlight glint off the crystals, each lost in their own thoughts but not in their own worlds. they had each other and they always would. Or they would have, had Chandler not left. He felt like such a dick. How could he have left Gracie, of all people without a word of goodbye, or even a letter saying that he would be back? And just like that he was an 18 year old again, trying to deal with the pain of leaving his family, his best friend, everything he'd known and loved for his whole life, to go and help the U.S. take care of some people who wanted to hurt the very thing he cared about. He felt tears rise in his eyes but pushed them back as he came back to the present and watched her as she realized who he was. He watched as she tried to swallow the fact that he was still alive and didn't move a muscle except to close his eyes as she put her face close to his and then touched his face with her hand. His eyes snapped open once again when she moved away and he watched her, eyes widening to the size of quarters as she started laughing. A confused look came over his face as he tried to figure out just what she was laughing at. He found nothing funny about this situation. It wasn't until about three minutes after she started laughing that he realized that it probably wasn't something funny she was laughing at. It was probably shock. Not knowing what to do he just watched her as she muffled her laughter and then she slapped him."Holy hell!" he thought one hand jumping up to touch the side of his face as she chewed him out. He still couldn't get the fact that she had slapped him out of his mind. Okay, so he probably deserved it, and much more, but he hadn't expected it right off the bat. Later, surely, but he had expected to be able to get a word in. Now though, he would let her speak her piece before he even tried to say anything. When she got to the point about believing he was dead, he winced. Honestly, he hadn't even known that that was part of the deal until after they had pronounced him dead. He had been livid, but what could he do? So he held his temper in check and tried to go on, but he had always wondered about how everyone felt about it. Well, know he knew how Gracie had felt about it. And then she started crying. He could almost feel his heart break as her tears flowed down her face in small sobs. He was lost in this situation. In all the years he's known her, he had never seen her cry. Ever. And just knowing that he was the cause of those tears. His eyes watered again and a few managed to slip out. He wiped them quickly as he moved to be next to Caidy, still wondering what to do. Very tentatively, he reached his hand out and touched her back. "Oh God." Chandler said as he scooted closer and wrapped his arm around her, hoping she didn't shrug it off as he deserved. "Gracie. I am so sorry. So sorry. I didn't know....they never told me...I didn't find out until after....and by then it was too late...Nothing I could do. I wanted to say bye, to tell you the truth, tell you everything. But I couldn't. It was against the rules and I...I couldn't risk breaking them." Tears flowed unchecked down his face. He hadn't even tried to hold them back when he felt them well up. he hadn't been able to bring himself to do it, to her, to himself. It'd been selfish to not let her see his tears when she was crying in front of him, when all he wanted to do was spill out the truth. All of it. But he couldn't. Not yet. He wasn't sure if he would be able to tell anybody everything, but if he ever told someone, it would be Gracie. He hated keeping secrets from her, but somethings just couldn't be shared, not when he wasn't quite sure if it was safe for them to be said. "I...God Gracie I was so stupid. I didn't know what else to do..." |
