[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 390px; border: 10px solid #1d1715; background-color: #e5e5e5] FREQUENTLY ASKED Q'S ! When you approach a forum, it's impossible to know everything by looking at the home page. Sometimes you're still rendered clueless after reading the rules, plot, and so on and so forth. Don't worry. We got this. Below, you'll find a list of questions we're frequently asked. If your question isn't on the list, you're more than welcome to seek out an administrator. Who knows? You might have the same question as someone else! If we find the same question keeps being asked and asked, we'll add it onto the list. Until then, this is all we have. I hope it helps you out, even if it's just a little bit. THE QUESTIONS Q. Where does the forum take place? A. I'm surprised you haven't learned this by now! Our forum is set in Yucca Mountain, Nevada. Yucca Mountain is about 100 miles outside of Las Vegas. All of the settings we have created in this "town" are completely fictional. Yucca Mountain is actually a big pile of sand and sage brush. Q. How does time pass on the forum? |
A. As stated in the rules, time goes by as normally as it does every day in reality. Monday is Monday, Tuesday is Tuesday, Wednesday is Wednesday, and Thursday is Friday. What? Good, you were paying attention. I think you kind of understand what I'm trying to say, don't you? We may have to slow down time for events, but the seasons (summer, winter, spring, and fall) will never intermix.
Q. Is there a character limit?[/u]
A. Yes. There is a character limit of four per member. If you are an active member and wish to create another after four, you're more than welcome to ask permission to make another one. If the administrators see you're actively posting and engage in our site appropriately, we'd be more than happy to let you create another! If not, we'll tell you to focus on the characters you have and be on your way. No shame in asking, though!
Q. Is there a word count?[/u]
A. Yes. The word count we currently have in place is 300 words. Since we are a literate, intermediate to advanced forum, any of our members or prospective members should be able to easily obtain that goal. There is few occasions we'll accept anything less than 300. These include: events, mini threads, and anywhere else stated directly. Never assume.
Q. What's the youngest I can make my character?[/u]
A. The youngest you may create your character is a freshman. The age of a freshman ranges from fourteen to fifteen usually. Due to child exploitation laws, you may not use any face claims younger than thirteen years of age. I don't care that you've used the same face claim for the last three sites you've had her on. If your face claim isn't thirteen years or older, you can't use it. End of discussion.
Q. Can my character have more than one ability?
A. For time sake, I'm going to say no. It would make your character more powerful than the rest. Of course, every rule has an exception, but two abilities is close to nonexistent. You'd have to have a very thorough, reasonable reason why he/she has two powers. As it stands, your character may only posessed one ability.
Q. Can my character have an ability that isn't on the list?
A. Of course! All you have to do is run in by an administrator. If it's not too bizarre, god-modly, or just straight out inappropriate, we'll totally let you try something new. The ability list is just a gentle push to give members a small idea of what there is. We know there are many other abilities than we have listed. Again, just run it by the admins via private message or chatbox and we'll give you the yey or ney. easy, right?
Q. Does my character have to have an ability?
A. Of course not! If you'd rather make a non-gifted character, that's perfectly fine. On the ability line, you'd just say normal or none or whatever you'd like. The town is a "safe haven" for gifted people, but non-gifted people are more than welcome to enjoy it!
Q. Why is someone using a face I'm already using?
A. In the rules, it says you must claim your face in the face claim or else the next person who goes to use him/her gets it. Before you roleplay, you should at least claim your face. If you neglected to do so, that's your fault. It's not fair to deprive a new member of a face claim they wanted because it wasn't claimed. If you like your face, you better claim it. Not claiming your character causes confusion and it's embarrassing to tell a new, optimistic member their face claim is taken by a member who forgot to claim. That's a real downer on their first day of joining, don't you think?
Q. What's that code? Can you make me a skin?
A. Sorry folks. I only do work for my own sites.[/div]
