BEHIND THE MASK ALIAS bee AGE eighteen ROLEPLAY EXPERIENCE four years FOUND US I forget -__- CODE WORD admin edit OTHER CHARACTERS none ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE This night had started off weird, and was getting weirder by the second. Ashton was an asshole, born and raised as a douchebag, and he'd always lived up to the elaborate reputation that proceeded him here at Hogwarts. The Slytherins knew the boy as one of their house's most popular, aspiring students, as well as rude asshole extraordinaire. Equally as infamous in the other three houses, Ashton had been labelled as not only a Prefect, but as the guy who will always break the awkward silence in a classroom by cracking some jokes and poking fun at the professor. Of course, the charming young man did his best to fool most of the Hogwarts faculty, making them believe he was an ambitious young man eager for success, who could do no harm to anyone. When Ashton met a girl, the routine was always the same. If there was one thing the Slytherin had learned, it was that if something's not broken, you don't fix it. His routine, his act, it worked perfectly, and therefore he didn't change it up. Why bother to modify the scene in a movie when it looks and works fine already? He'd start by talking to the girl, and being funny. Girls liked funny guys, it was just that simple. The fastest way to a girls pants was by making her laugh, and Ashton did just that. He'd be funny, and then he'd start being sweet. This was just as easy; when the girl laughed so hard she cried, he's be all romantic and wipe the tears off of her face with his hand, and then move her hair behind her ear. Once that was done, he was in the homestretch and just had to follow through. Hug, kiss, then sleep with the girl, and all was fine. Of course, that would only cover him for one night, because after that he'd become an ass and make it clear he was done with the girl. Girls were like meat, or clothing. One use only, then throw that shit away. But then, things with Cara were already starting off on a different foot. Ashton's number one rule was that there were never, ever strings attached. No crying, no deep life chats, no emotions. Emotions tied you down, and then things got messy. The easiest way to avoid that was to keep everything strictly physical, or have a game plan and follow it through. He always, always did both, and it worked. And yet here he was, talking to Cara, both of them spilling out emotions and the truth, one of them had cried, he'd felt guilty, and now the sentimental lovey-dovey magic with the rose of tears. Ugh, this was bound to get complicated. Looking up the Cara, smiling, Ashton's grin widened as she attempted the magic with the fire and lion, and he clapped his hands together, applauding her effort. Taking a natural element, such as water or fire, and bending it to your will was usually simple when you thought about the crude applications. Streams of water or fireballs were easy, because they required minimal focus and attention to detail. Once you got more complicated, and wanted to bend the elements into a more complex shape, it got much more difficult. Water was fairly simple, since the material is malleable and easy to shape to begin with, and mostly required just a charm to keep it all confined in a certain shape. Fire, on the other hand, was a wild and untamed force of nature, and much more difficult to form into something detailed. Ashton's snake earlier had been difficult, yet fairly simple because a snake is a simple shape - long and round, with a slit for a mouth. A lion, on the other hand, was quite a bit more complex, and Ashton doubted that even he could manage that advanced a spell. Of course, the boy only knew all of this because he'd just finished reading a book about transfiguring the elements for his Transfiguration essay, 7 pages due in the morning. And that, his studying, was exactly why he was still out and about, as Cara would discover momentarily. "Well, Honourable Miss Petrova, Prefect of Hufflepuff, if you must know I was writing a Transfiguration report in the library, and then stopped by here before bed to pick up some stuff I'd left behind this afternoon after duty." And that, indeed, was the truth. As he spoke, Ashton motioned over towards his books with his hands, and smiled mischievously. He had a free period in the afternoon, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays he would patrol the hallways of the school and ensure that all students were in their classes, rather than playing hooky and goofing off in the courtyard. After that he'd rushed to his Potions class, and then gone straight to the library after dinner in the Great Hall. Winking at Cara, Ashton made a face that mimicked that of a scared, first year student who was being reprimanded for sneaking out after curfew. "Please, ma'am, I wasn't hurting anything." Trying to maintain the scared face, Ashton burst out into laughter and stuck his tongue out playfully at Cara, trying his best to lighten the mood after all the depressing emotions that had been flying around. He didn't mention what had just happened, and didn't plan on bringing it up ever again. He'd messed up, she'd cried, it was water under the bridge; in his eyes atleast. "And why are you out of your dormitories, Miss Petrova? Or have you officially transfered your place of sleep to the Sixth Floor Student Lounge?" Grinning, Ashton placed his wand back down on the chair beside him as he idly cracked his knuckles, awaiting a response. |
