But I knew it drove my parents apart. My mom used to work on some secret government stuff. She was a scientist and had a contract with them. What she was working on, I don’t really know, but my dad blamed it for the way I can out. Something about the chemicals and whatnot altering my genetic makeup causing the pryokinesis. “What’s pyrokinesis? Well Pyro is the word for fire and kinesis has something to do with the ability to control or create it. When I was born, it was not apparent other than the constant fevers my body holds, but after years and years of it, it was just the normal for Baby Dia. “So back to before I was born, or during the creation of me. My mother was still working on her projects while she was pregnant, except she didn’t know she was and when she found out she still had a month on it. She took precautions and was more than positive it wouldn’t hurt little ole me. Except because she couldn’t tell dear daddy, daddy decided that caused it. And with the constant incidents with burnt kids, well he just up and left. It wasn’t what he signed up for apparently. I think I was five when he left. “What he was talking about? Well when I was little I was in an academy, I was supposed to be there through most of my school years up until my graduation of high school, except, I kept getting into trouble. I had a temper and kids are just young empaths I swear, because they I acted like I was some kind of freak since day one. I tried playing with them, but they would push me away. I would get mad, and where ever I touched them, bam, burn marks. “But the academy couldn’t place her as the person doing it and couldn’t kick her out. It wasn’t until I was supposed to have my fifth birthday. We sent many invites to the kids in my class. But no one came. Not a single person. It was probably because of the fact that their kids came home with injuries and blamed it on me. Well everything erupted in flames. Balloons melt, curtains were falling into infernos. It basically landed the house in chaos, and soon it was no more. Daddy mentioned he couldn’t handle this. This was not what he wanted and how he couldn’t deal. I never saw him after that, or any of the other kids. “My mom and I left and arrived in California, we were Texas before the fire. My mother thought it was a new start, except the lack of father made me the butt of some jokes of those nasty kids. A few more fires and soon we were gone again. I was thrown into home schooling and my mom talked to a few of her friends. I was tested and somehow my mind has some advance ability that owns up to the pyrokinesis. My mom taught me half of the time and the other half I worked with scientists in controlling my ability, mainly since they were too interested in my ability to look for a “cure.” It lasted years. “Then recently I blew up. I could not handle it. I was a lad rat, not to mention sixteen and constantly cooped up away from the world. I demanded all of it to stop especially since I had control. Threats weren’t needed but I threw them at them until finally, my mother’s scientist boyfriend told her of a place in Nevada for people like me. “Once again we moved. I’m a new kid. I was put into school, apparently at the level of a junior, though I know I can be higher, but I didn’t dare try, I wanted the experience. Except, I’ve never been in this kind of environment. It seems I don’t act the way people are expected to, and honestly I don’t care much in being like them. I don’t see the thrill, I only see the little kids from my past. So here I am, loud, and confident, making my way through a somewhat normal life. Woo. Oh and did I mention, that's not the most recent picture of me you have? Yeah, 'cause I got a hold of a box of dye, and thought a new look would go along well with my new life.” BEHIND THE MASK ALIAS star AGE eighteen ROLEPLAY EXPERIENCE a year FOUND US caution? CODE WORD admin edit OTHER CHARACTERS N/A ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE New York was not like back home. First, she didn’t have her beach, and second it seemed so gloomy. But music and art was found everywhere. Kat spent her morning roaming around Queens, not the smartest idea for an eighteen year old girl, but it was bright day and Kat needed to know her way around if she ever actually ran into some real trouble. She also thought she would stick out like a sore thumb, but her in a pair of sweatpants and a baggy shirt help her blend in. Not to mention the beanie on her head and the sneakers on her feet. The girl soon ended up in Chinatown. A place definitely full of life. People were everywhere and Kat thought for a moment she will never find her way. That was until she heard the music. Distant beats the core of her body and she quickly moved around the people until she reached the source. Finally she found one! Dancers performing right there on the street. People were crowded around and booing, laughing, cheering, and taking in bets. It was a ligitamit thing going on and Kat finally found it. She bounced with the people around the dancer and nodded her head. Kat cheered along with the people taking in what she could. The steps, the placement of the body and tried to keep it up in her mind, but she was so caught up in the vibe of things, she just could only smile and enjoy what she found. Well that was until her stomach gave a growl. It was time for lunch, she was more than sure of it. She knew that bowl of cereal she had would not cover her adventure of the day. She took one more look at the dancers before she went off back into the crowds. Her brown eyes searched the tenders before she found a small restaurant. Kat made her way to the small red building and entered it. It was pretty much empty and one of the workers were sitting and reading the newspaper. “Can’t be that bad.” She muttered as she looked around. It look clean and smelt good. She shrugged her small shoulders before heading to the counter. “Can I get a bowl of chow mein?” she asked. The small woman smiled and nodded before she went to the kitchen and went on to her work. Kat actually didn’t need to wait long. A bowl of noodles was soon placed in front of her. It was steaming and had a nice auroma coming off of it. The woman told her the price and happily paid. She then grabbed a pair of chop sticks before going to one of the many empty tables. She dipped the chop sticks into the bowl and grabbed some noodles. She put her mouth around it and began chewing. It was really good. It gave her confidence to pick up some more and continued eating. She found a hidden treasure. It was just too good to be true. |
